Whether you choose an integrated vest or a plate carrier, the selection and proper positioning of ballistic inserts are crucial for optimal protection and mobility. Follow these guidelines to ensure your plates are worn correctly:

To ensure the best protection and mobility, the plates should be worn according to the rules below:

Positioning the Front Plate

- The upper part of the front plate should be placed just below the cervical notch, aligning with the level of the sternum manubrium.

- The lower part of the front plate should be positioned 2 cm to 8 cm above the belly button, depending on your height, bulk, and plate size.

Positioning the Back Plate

- The top of the back plate should sit about 2 to 3 centimeters below the base of the cervical spine (C1 vertebrae).

Plate Size

For 80 percent of the population, the correct plate size is 25 cm x 30 cm (10” x 12” or MEDIUM). These plates are suitable for individuals with a height between 150 cm and 190 cm and body weight between 65 kg and 120 kg.

Mobility Check To ensure the armour plate and plate carrier size are correct, verify that you can perform the following movements while wearing your vest:

- Bend at the waist to touch your toes.

- Perform a burpee.

- Twist your torso fully to the left and right.

- Ensure a full range of motion for your arms (front, back, up, down).

Check for Interference

Make sure your duty belt and any accessories or pouches do not interfere with each other or limit your range of motion.

Visual Guidance

Refer to the attached photos for a visual demonstration of the proper arrangement of the plates and ballistic inserts in our vests. By following these guidelines, you can ensure that your vest provides the best possible protection and mobility.

Hand Cleaning Method (recommended)

1. Remove Coarse Dirt: Use a soft or medium-soft hand brush to gently remove any loose dirt or debris from the surface of the Cordura® product. This initial step helps prevent the dirt from embedding further into the fabric during washing.

2. Wash with Lukewarm Water: Rinse the product with lukewarm water (up to 30 °C). For tougher dirt, use a hand brush along with a small amount of curd soap. Gently scrub the soiled areas to lift the dirt without damaging the fabric.

3. Drying Process: After washing, allow the product to air dry slowly. Avoid placing it in direct sunlight or near heat sources, as high temperatures can damage the fabric and affect its properties.

4. Care for Zippers: Use a special silicone-based care stick to lubricate and protect the zippers. This prevents them from sticking and ensures smooth operation.

Machine Washing Method (not recommended - but possible)

1. Prepare the Product: Remove all detachable components, such as straps and buckles, to prevent damage during washing. Place the Cordura® product in a laundry bag to protect it from friction and snagging inside the washing machine.

2. Choose the Right Detergent: Use a color liquid fine detergent. This type of detergent is less likely to leave residue on the fabric, which can affect its appearance and performance.

3. Wash at Low Temperature: Set the washing machine to a gentle cycle with a temperature not exceeding 30 °C. Avoid using the spin cycle, as the agitation can cause damage to the fabric and seams of the Cordura® product.

4. Drying Process: Similar to hand cleaning, allow the product to air dry slowly. Keep it away from direct sunlight and heat sources to prevent any potential damage.

5. Care for Zippers: Use a silicone-based care stick on the zippers to ensure they remain functional and do not become stiff or corroded over time.

Conclusion

By following these cleaning and maintenance methods, you can significantly prolong the life and performance of your Cordura® products. Proper care ensures that the fabric retains its durability and protective qualities, allowing you to enjoy your items for many years to come.
